Scholars at Risk Global Congress 2018
The Global Congress, that will take place in April 2018 in Berlin (Germany), is jointly convened by Scholars at Risk Network, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and Freie Universität Berlin.
This year, the theme of the international conference is the 'The university and the future of democracy' and the event will be hosted at Freie Universität, between the 23rd and 26th April 2018.
The event brings together the annual workshop of the Humboldt Foundation’s Philipp Schwartz Initiative and the biennial Global Congress of the Scholars at Risk Network, consisting of over 500 higher education institutions in 38 countries.
The combined Global Congress aims at raising understanding of the threats to academics and academic freedom across the globe, and about the role that scholars, higher education institutions and policymakers can play in protecting higher education communities as engines of democratic discourse and values.
