Virtual exchange and 21st-century teacher education conference
The final conference of the European policy experiment EVALUATE will be held at the University of Leon from 4th to 6th September 2019.
The Virtual exchange and 21st-century teacher education conference, organised in association with UNICollaboration, is aimed at educators and policymakers. Within the framework of this conference, the results of the EVALUATE project will be presented. This project, in which the Compostela Group of Universities is part of the consortium, conducted the first large scale study of Virtual Exchange (VE) in Europe.
The conference will also include a discussions fora on the future role of Virtual Exchange in teacher education involving policymakers from the European Commission and national and regional governments.
Besides, the organisation opened a call for papers for researchers and practitioners on the theme of VE in contexts of Teacher Education. Presentations may focus on themes such as:
- The use of Virtual Exchange in Initial Teacher Education or ongoing professional development contexts.
- The training of university instructors in Virtual Exchange.
How to register?
Registration for this conference is free thanks to the funding by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ Programme. However, participants are expected to cover all of their own travel and subsistence costs.

EVALUATE is a European Policy Experiment project funded by Erasmus+ Key Action 3 - Strengthening teacher training and education by using the opportunities of new technologies (School education).
The aim of this experimentation is to evaluate the impact of telecollaborative learning on student-teachers involved in Initial Teacher Education in the participating European countries and regions.
