The UNWTO includes the university forum ‘The value of Human Rights on the Camino de Santiago’ in its action plan 2018

The I University Forum ‘The value of Human Rights on the Camino de Santiago’ is detailed as one of the actions designed to achieve the goal of talent development, through capacity building and education.

This academic and cultural activity, that will take place on March 2018 in Santiago de Compostela, is organized jointly by the Compostela Group of Universities, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and Helsinki España – Human Dimension (HE).

The aim of the forum is to analyse and study Human Rights and their reflection on the Camino de Santiago, as well as to consider the relation between the Camino and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

• Elearning: Student will reflect on Human Rights, SDGs, tourism and Camino de Santiago.
• Face-to-face training and volunteering: Students will walk one of the five stretches along four routes of the Camino de Santiago and carry out on site researches. This activity will be recognized with European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
• International Congress: The conclusions of the project will be discussed and the ‘Declaration of Chancellors: Camino de Santiago in favour of Human Rights and the SDGs will be signed’.
